Freelance Writer
Are you a New England-based writer interested in covering the region’s visual and performing arts? Artscope Magazine wants to hear from you.
At Artscope, we focus on timely artist profiles and exhibition reviews so that our readers have the opportunity to see and interact with the shows and artwork that interests them. As a regional magazine, we encourage our readers to travel throughout New England to see exhibitions and schedule are articles to give them the time to plan those art wanderlust adventures, especially if they’ve seen someone’s work that they’d be interested in purchasing. Our key qualification to having an exhibition or gallery featured?: What makes this worthy of a more than hour drive to see it?
We cover shows that can be seen after our reviews are published and previews of exhibitions, preferably through studio visits, that open after we’ve gone to press. Our stories are the result of suggestions by our staff writers and assignments by our managing editor with the goal of spreading our coverage throughout the New England region.
Our magazine is printed on a bi-monthly basis in both print and digital format; most of our articles run approximately 600 to 900 words in length.
We also publish weekly online articles, interviews and reviews as features in the “Artscope Online” section at artscopemagazine.com.
Compensation:
For print articles, payment is based on word count.
For online articles, there is a flat rate payment.
