art: Millbrook Road, Nantucket, Thanksgiving 2009
artist: Lauri Robertson
medium: digital capture photograph
I am interested in being embodied by a landscape, the dizzying, experiential process of seeing more and more, the more one looks. There’s little “composition,” in the sense that a perception of immersion is the composition. I’m attracted to a certain flatness, or abstraction, but necessarily in concert with a stark realism. This image was taken on Thanksgiving day on Nantucket, where I live.
