“The Art of Elizabeth Catlett fromthe Collection of Samella Lewis”Widely recognized as one of the more important artists of the20th century, Elizabeth Catlett(1915 – 2012) was a printmakerand sculptor whose careerspanned more than 6 decades.The exhibition comprises printsand sculpture created between1946 and 1996, exploring themany themes that permeateCatlett’s work: social and racialjustice, motherhood, and theBlack-American experience;and includes works by Catlett’shusband Francisco Mora andstudent and long-time friend,Samella Lewis.
