“TEN Kingston Associates: Entangled,” the latest show at Kingston Gallery, is a group exhibition that explores the connections between objects and ideas and how the process of making art begins to intertwine and become entangled by the concepts of shape, light, realism and abstractism. It features different interpretations of this prompt through a variety of mediums. Viewers are encouraged to ponder how both they and the artist react to the same ideas and feelings contained or transmitted by a work of art. For this writer, two artists stole the show. Juried shows are what you make of them, whether you’re an artist, the sponsoring venue or the juror. They can provide a chance to reach a new audience, expand your portfolio, or find out which artists you’ve not previously been aware of who are making work that deserves your attention — and possibly a place in your collection.
