“Cooking Up Change: Women’s Agency and Community Building Through Cookbooks”
The exhibition draws from the Schlesinger Library’s 4,300 community cookbooks to examine women’s roles in fundraising, cultural preservation, and community building from the 19th century to today. Featuring diverse regions, annotated volumes and archival materials, the exhibition highlights foodways, creativity, and the lasting impact of shared vibrant culinary traditions.
