In December, a jury of three internationally known curators will choose one of nine finalists who live and work in the Boston area for the $25,000 James and Audrey Foster Prize for 2010 and for some career-boosting prestige.
Each artist contesting for this prize is given generous space in one of a series of five rooms and the corridors connecting them to display his or her vision. When I reached the last artist on my first run-through, I turned around, as you will, to review my favorites.
